Operating out of a small upstairs space just around the corner from the train station in the Kichijoji neighborhood of Tokyo, OZ was a scruffy,DIYaffair that lasted not much more than a year. Between June 1972 to September 1973, the cafe and performance space became the nerve center for the citys burgeoning underground and counterculture set.
