A distinctive and historically intriguing variant of one of Germanys most formidable armored fighting vehicles, this 1/35 scale Panther Ausf.D captures the experimental Stadtgas fuel system developed late in the war as conventional fuel supplies dwindled. The Panther itselfintroduced in 1943 and first seeing combat at the Battle of Kurskwas designed in direct response to the Soviet T-34, combining sloped armor and a high-velocity 7.5cm KwK 42 gun to become one of the most effective tanks of the conflict. This kit faithfully reproduces the rare adaptation fitted with external gas cylinders, a little-known attempt to keep Germanys armored forces operational under severe logistical strain.
